About the role

 

Reporting to the Site Manager with a matrix line to the FSQ Director, the Food Safety & Quality (FSQ) Manager is a key leadership role responsible for driving food safety excellence and fostering a strong quality culture across the site. In this position, you will shape strategy, lead and inspire teams, and ensure that all products consistently meet the highest safety and quality standards.
This permanent, full-time onsite role based in Zwijndrecht offers the opportunity to lead change, champion continuous improvement, and make a tangible impact in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Food Safety Leadership

Lead food safety strategy and ensure compliance with Kerry standards

Oversee HACCP, preventive controls, and maintain the FSQ system and GFSI certification

Manage escalations, crises, and food safety-related decisions

 

  • Compliance & Regulatory

Ensure products meet specifications and regulatory requirements

Lead audit readiness and customer visits

Ensure adherence to global standards and manage change processes

 

  • Continuous Improvement

Track and analyse FSQ KPIs, sharing insights with stakeholders

Drive improvements through root cause analysis and CAPA

 

  • Customer Engagement

Act as main FSQ contact for customers

Manage complaints, investigations, and preventive actions

Promote knowledge sharing and continuous improvement

 

  • Team Leadership

Build and develop a high-performing FSQ team

Lead recruitment, performance, engagement, and budget management

 

  • Technical Expertise

Stay updated on regulations and industry trends

Drive innovation using data and technology

Qualifications and skills

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or a related Science/Engineering field
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Food Safety and Quality within a food manufacturing environment
  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to manage teams and drive performance
  • Solid experience managing Quality & Food Safety systems
  • Fluent in Dutch and English
  • Strong decision-making skills, with the ability to translate strategic vision into clear, actionable objectives
  • Continuous improvement mindset, with a structured and results-driven approach.
