About the role
The Sanitation Operator is responsible for maintaining environmental and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) standards throughout the plant. This includes ensuring compliance with master sanitation schedules and standard operating procedures (SOPs), while adhering to safety, quality, manufacturing, and sanitation standards. This role reports to the Sanitation Manager and receives daily direction from the Sanitation Team Lead.
Key responsibilities
Responsibilities:
• Perform routine cleaning tasks, such as sweeping, mopping, wiping, and dusting, to maintain cleanliness in various areas of the facility, including production areas, restrooms, offices, and break rooms.
• Foam and scrub facility equipment and areas.
• Handle chemicals safely with provided training.
• Operate cleaning equipment, such as floor scrubbers, vacuum cleaners, and pressure washers, safely and effectively.
• Follow established sanitation protocols to prevent cross-contamination and ensure compliance with food safety standards.
• Dispose of waste and recyclable materials in accordance with company procedures and environmental regulations.
• Complete all necessary reports, logs, and documentation assigned throughout the shift.
• Assist with inventory management by moving, organizing, and maintaining sanitation supplies and equipment.
• Notify management of any maintenance or repair issues that may affect sanitation standards or safety.
• Maintain Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Attend Tier 1 Meetings at the start of the shift and provide input as requested.
• Operate a forklift and scissorlift with provided training.
• Follow all rules and regulations to ensure safety and quality.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications and skills
Required Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Good organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English at a level sufficient to understand job terminology.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal procedures or instructions.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Previous experience in janitorial or sanitation work preferred, but not required.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 50lbs.
• Flexibility to work weekends as needed.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
· Food manufacturing plant.
· Warehouse environment.
· Ability to kneel, bend, squat, carry, reach, stand, grip, push, pull, arm extensions and perform elevated work.
· Ability to work in hot, cold, or wet environments.
· Ability to work in environment that may be dusty at times.
· Ability to lift 50 pounds continuously.
· Ability to continuously stand/walk up to 12 hours.
· Ability to climb stairs or ladder.

The pay rate for this position is $23 per hour.
