About the role
As a Process Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth and efficient plant operations while maintaining compliance with company policies and quality standards. You will be responsible for operating and monitoring processing equipment, supporting production activities, and upholding safety and food quality requirements. This position requires technical knowledge, a proactive attitude, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Location: Kawasan Perindustrian Bukit Raja Selatan, Shah Alam, Selangor.
- Reporting To: Production Executive (Shift Lead).
- Working Hours: Shift rotation (Morning: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM | Afternoon: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM).
Key responsibilities
- Comply with company policies, procedures, and operational requirements.
- Report to the Production Executive during shifts and to DCS Technicians in their absence.
- Handle raw material receiving and unloading from tankers and ISO tanks into storage tanks.
- Manage weighing of tankers and other materials (e.g., chemicals, nitrogen, waste bins) using the weighbridge system.
- Assist Production Executive in sampling raw materials and liaising with the QC laboratory for testing.
- Maintain 5S, GMP, Food Safety, and safety standards at the raw unloading section.
- Update incoming raw materials in SAP and perform daily MPOB (SIMS – Sawit Intelligent Management System) updates.
- Conduct routine inspections and complete checklists for unloading and processing areas.
- Ensure processing plant and storage tanks operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with GMP.
- Support executives and supervisors in maintaining safety and cleanliness in the plant.
- Ensure compliance with management systems such as 5S, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, FSSC 22000, and Halal standards.
- Participate as a member of the Emergency Response Team (ERT) during shifts.
- Maintain work area cleanliness and assist with repairs and troubleshooting when required.
- Continuously learn and enhance knowledge related to plant operations.
- Perform other duties as directed by supervisors.
Qualifications and skills
- Graduate from a Vocational College or Diploma in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering.
OR SPM/SPMV with at least 5 years of relevant work experience. - Experience in a vegetable oil distillation plant is an added advantage.
- Willing to work in a vegetable oil/manufacturing environment and on shift rotation.
- Ability to communicate and understand Bahasa Melayu.
- English communication skills are an added advantage.
- Basic computer literacy, including familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
