About the role

The EHS Specialist supports site operations by implementing and maintaining environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Kerry standards. As a member of the site’s EHS Team, provide support and leadership to the site through implementation of EHS programs, procedures, and education initiatives focused on compliance assurance, incident reduction, and risk mitigation. This role will drive continuous improvement in EHS performance, foster a strong safety culture through employee engagement, and support sustainability initiatives.

Key responsibilities

•  Assist with implementing and maintaining EHS programs, policies, and procedures in alignment with corporate directives and regulatory requirements (OSHA, EPA, local regulations).

•  Manage site-specific environmental permits and reporting requirements including air emissions, wastewater, stormwater, well water, and waste handling.

•  Maintain accurate environmental records (permits, inspections, sampling logs) to meet regulatory and corporate standards.

•  Support ISO 14001 documentation, objectives, and certification maintenance.

•  Conduct regular EHS inspections, risk assessments, PSM activities, and reviews related to hazardous chemicals and hazardous waste.

•  Support EHS and site audits and develop corrective and preventive actions.

•  Maintain accurate EHS records, including OSHA logs, training documentation, permits, and incident reports.

•  Identify EHS training needs, develop and deliver sessions on environmental permits, chemical handling, emergency response, and safety procedures for employees and management.

•  Support or lead investigations of EHS incidents; ensure timely reporting and corrective actions.

•  Track and analyze EHS Key Performance Indicators (KPIs); communicate trends and improvement plans.

•  Monitor plant effluents and utilities; collect and analyze operational and environmental data to support sustainability initiatives and compliance reporting

•  Assist in leading site Safety Committee meetings, CEMT meetings, and communicating EHS expectations.

Qualifications and skills

•  Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field; OR equivalent experience (5+ years).

•  2–3 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

•  Experience with air, wastewater, stormwater, well water, land application permitting, waste handling, and compliance preferred.

•  Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and local EHS regulations; experience with ISO 14001 and Process Safety Management (PSM) a plus.

•  Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with EHS management systems (e.g., Intelex, Alchemy, SAP) preferred.

•  Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

•  Professional certifications (ASP, CSP, CIH) desirable.

•  Ability to be flexible with hours as needed.

Organizational Relationships:

This position will report directly to the EHS Manager.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

Ability to work in a manufacturing setting with exposure to chemicals and machinery; use of PPE required. Must be able to climb stairs, work at heights, and perform physical inspections.

 

Compensation Data

The pay range for this position is $64,479 - $105,272 in Annual Salary.  Kerry typically does not hire an individual at the top or near the top of the range, as we are a pay-for-performance company, and this range is set to continue to reward performance annually while in role.  Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.  The specific compensation offered to a candidate within the above range may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience, and internal equity.  Kerry offers a competitive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, Employee Share Plan, Life, disability, and accident insurance, and tuition reimbursement.  This job posting is anticipated to expire on February 27, 2026.
