About the role

The Data and Capability Lead will be responsible for all area master data within the supply chain function at a central level. Working closely with the Supply Chain Master Data Lead, site Supply Chain Managers, Central Material Planners, central Supply Planners, central Transport Planners Procurement Category Buyers as well as the cross-functional to enable a Strategic Planning approach for material sourcing to ensure committed output is achieved in on time and in full.

Key responsibilities

Master Data Management & Governance

  • Manage end-to-end supply chain master data at a central level across SAP ECC, APO, and MDG systems.
  • Create, update, maintain, and govern master data records, including finished goods, raw materials, business terms, and transportation data.
  • Ensure timely and accurate product creations, extensions, updates, and blocks within SAP and MDG.
  • Monitor data quality, accuracy, consistency, and completeness across all supply chain master data.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve data discrepancies and system issues promptly.
  • Conduct regular data audits and validations to maintain high-quality data standards.
  • Support the implementation and adherence to data governance policies, procedures, and data lifecycle management practices.

Stakeholder Management & Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Supply Chain, Procurement, Production, Logistics, and other business functions to understand and support data requirements.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders to gather, validate, and maintain critical business data.
  • Act as the key liaison for master data-related initiatives, projects, and process improvements.
  • Provide training, guidance, and support to end users on master data processes and best practices.

Reporting, Analytics & Process Improvement

  • Generate, analyse, and interpret master data reports, metrics, and KPIs to support business decision-making.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to drive supply chain effectiveness and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure timely reporting and documentation of master data changes, maintaining audit-ready records.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline master data management processes and implement continuous improvements.
  • Provide ongoing support and maintenance for master data-related activities and issues.

Broader Supply Chain & Digital Capability Responsibilities

  • Support the development, implementation, and enforcement of data governance frameworks and standards.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects focused on improving data management processes and supply chain performance.
  • Drive best practices in master data management to enhance operational efficiency across the supply chain.
  • Leverage AI-powered technologies to automate data quality checks and improve data accuracy and consistency.
  • Utilise AI and advanced analytics to identify trends, forecast requirements, and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Collaborate on initiatives involving the integration of AI technologies within SAP ERP environments.
  • Support the development, enhancement, and optimisation of AI-driven data models for master data management and supply chain operations.

 

Qualifications and skills

  • Atleast 3-5 years of experience in Master Data Management (MDM) within a Supply Chain environment.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP ECC, APO, and MDG.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, and business process management.
  • Proven ability to work with cross-functional stakeholders and manage data-related projects.
  • Experience in data analytics, reporting, and continuous process improvement.
  • Exposure to AI-enabled technologies and digital transformation initiatives within supply chain operations is advantageous.
