About the role

 

To lead, implement, and maintain a robust quality management system that ensures compliance with food safety regulations, customer requirements, and internal standards. This role is responsible for safeguarding product integrity through effective documentation, traceability, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Quality System Manager also oversees hygiene and sanitation programs, including pest control, to ensure a clean and safe manufacturing environment. By managing audits, training, and risk mitigation strategies, the role supports operational excellence and fosters a strong culture of quality and safety across the plant.

Reporting to : Food Safety and Quality Manager 

 

Target:

 

  • To adhere Management direction on meeting the objective of Quality Department for Kerry in below main governance
  • Quality System Governance – audit, standards, customer and regulatory requirements
  • Hygiene and sanitation activities and validation
  • Integrated pest management with 3rd party service provider

 

Hygiene and Sanitation:

 

  • Overseeing and managing plant hygiene and sanitation standards
  • Following guidelines, he/she establishes the GMP standards and Pathogen Monitoring Plan for the plant in collaboration with the Site Quality Manager and Production Managers. He / she is responsible for assisting and guiding the plants to reach the GMP / EMP standards set and always maintain or improve the standards.
  • Participates in the HACCP, plant validation and qualification for the plants and new lines.
  • Validates and verifies that QMS, HACCP and all other SOP’s pertaining to hygiene and pest management are executed in compliance.
  • Actively participate in trouble shooting activities especially pertaining to hygiene matters and be heavily involved in all hygienic engineering matters.

 

Overall Accountability for Sanitation Activity Effectiveness:

 

  • To be accountable for good sanitation practices in Kerry Tampoi
  • Verify and approve chemical usage, concentration and method of usage
  • Verify and approve equipment suitable for sanitation activity
  • Verify and approve the master sanitations schedule
  • To align internal procedures as per food safety standard requirements, customer requirements, Kerry Global and Regional requirements and regulatory requirements
  • Accountability over Sanitation Department to adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Accountability to regularly audit documentation, including control points and coaches the team when deviations occur
  • Understands the safe cleaning procedures of each piece of equipment and accountability over team members to work in compliance with these standards.
  • Monitor GMP’s and all housekeeping practices throughout the department and maintain plant standards

 

Integrated Pest Management Program:

 

  • Establishes implements and reviews the trending on Environmental Monitoring Program to ensure hygiene and sanitation programs are effective and Integrated Pest Management to ensure compliance to the Kerry policies / guidelines and customer requirements.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all checks are executed well, and that checks can lead to early warning or detection of deviations.
  • Anticipate, trouble-shoot and resolve hygiene deviations with the respective Production Managers and production teams, Service Departments and Site Quality Manager.

Key requirements and Qualifications

 

Training:

 

  • Manage training program pertaining to hygiene and sanitation
  • Understand and perform GAP analysis of sanitations program
  • Develop and implement training for sanitation and plant employees
  • Other relevant training related to FSMS and IMS

 

Continuous Improvement:

 

  • To participate in continuous improvement activities as necessary
  • Recognizes areas of opportunity that could improve employee safety, quality, food safety, cost and efficiency
  • Drives resolutions to implement improvement
  • Implement company’s productivity strategies that effectively reduce controllable costs of integrated pest control, hygiene and sanitation activity, while driving Kerry improvements standard.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions plans on any event that could be caused by/related to hygiene, sanitation and pest control.

 

Health & Safety:

 

  • To protect the safety of all team members through the continuous improvement of safety standards

 

Environment:

 

  • Follow all safety rules and regulations while meeting the job demands
  • Review all accident and incident investigations with the objective of taking to eliminate future occurrences
  • To continually reduce the impact has on the environment through the reduction of resource (energies, water etc) use and the reduction of waste generation (food, components).

 

Quality System & Compliance:

 

  • To ensure practices that meets food safety requirements.
  • Drive quality improvement via hygiene, sanitation and integrated pest management system as well as food safety management system
  • Good understanding of sampling methods, and all lab reference methods and rapid methods used for hygiene and utilities testing. He / she is able to trouble shoot and resolve all sampling and analytical deviations promptly.
  • Drive and manage validation activities related to hygiene and sanitation activity (eg: CIPs, manual cleaning, allergen validation, hazard cross contaminations)
  • Ensuring FSMS programs are compliance to standard, customer and regulatory requirements which includes HACCP, FSSC22000
  • Ensuring other standards are in compliance which includes Kosher, RSPO and any other certifications that the company is applying
  • Customer (Internal / External):
  • To support Operations in making sure effectiveness of sanitation program.
  • To monitor effective control of 3rd party service providers and their performance such as Rentokil, Ecolab, etc
  • To support plant FSMS governance
  • Managing customer portal and documentations – questionnaires, vendor approval document etc.
  • To perform any task assign by the superior from time to time

 

Qualifications 

 

  • Degree in Science, Minimum 5 years working experience in food industry and 10 years as managerial position. Preference will be given to people who have recent experience in sanitations management
  • Technical knowledge in food hygiene standards, FSMS, HACCP and AIB requirement.
  • Good initiative, good team player and results oriented.
  • Strong leadership with excellent communication skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast changing and growing global environment where accountability, quality, timeliness are key components
