About the role

Location:          Johor Bahru    

Reporting to:    Import & Export Manager

 

The Export Specialist manages export operations and documentation to ensure timely, compliant, and efficient delivery of products to global customers. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to support shipment execution, trade compliance, and continuous process improvement

Key responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end export operations, ensuring timely, compliant, and efficient delivery of products to global customers.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain export documentation, permits, certifications, and customs declarations in accordance with international trade requirements.
  • Coordinate with Customer Care, Regulatory Affairs, Commercial, Finance, freight forwarders, and government agencies to support seamless shipment execution.
  • Ensure compliance with export regulations, customer requirements, and shipping documentation standards.
  • Support new product exports, customer registrations, sample shipments, and trade compliance activities.
  • Manage export payment documentation, including Letters of Credit (LC), Documents Against Payment (DP), and Documents Against Acceptance (DA).
  • Drive continuous improvement through process optimization, digitalization, automation, and cost-efficiency initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate export records, reporting, and compliance documentation to support operational excellence.

Qualifications and skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Supply Chain, Logistics, International Trade, Business, or a related field.
  • 2–3 years of experience in Import/Export Operations, International Trade, Logistics, Customs, or Supply Chain.
  • Strong knowledge of import/export processes, trade compliance, customs regulations, and international shipping documentation.
  • Proficient in SAP, Microsoft Office, and digital tools; experience with trade management systems, automation, and AI-enabled solutions is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work across cross-functional and global teams.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on digitalization, automation, compliance, and operational excellence.
