About the role

 

This is an exciting opportunity to lead and elevate Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) at our manufacturing site in Thailand. Beyond ensuring compliance, you will play a pivotal role in building a strong safety culture, driving operational excellence, and supporting Kerry's sustainability ambitions. 

 

As the EHS Manager, you will partner closely with site leadership, operational teams, and external stakeholders to create a safe, compliant, and high-performing workplace where safety and environmental stewardship are embedded into daily operations.

Key responsibilities

 

 

Safety Leadership & Culture 

 

• Champion a proactive, behaviour-based safety culture across all levels of the organisation.
• Drive employee engagement and accountability for health, safety, and environmental performance.
• Lead initiatives that promote continuous improvement in safety awareness and behaviours. 

 

Regulatory Compliance 

 

• Ensure full compliance with Thai environmental, health, and safety regulations.
• Maintain adherence to occupational health and safety requirements, including Professional Safety Officer (PSO) obligations under Thai law.
• Monitor and interpret regulatory changes to ensure ongoing compliance. 

 

Management Systems & Audit Excellence 

 

• Lead and maintain robust EHS management systems in line with internal, customer, and international standards, including:
• ISO 45001 – Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems
• ISO 14001 – Environmental Management Systems
• SEDEX / SMETA requirements
• Customer and regulatory audits
• Ensure audit readiness and effective closure of audit findings. 

 

Operational EHS Integration 

 

• Embed EHS practices into daily manufacturing operations to ensure sustainable implementation.
• Partner with operational teams to identify risks, implement controls, and improve workplace safety performance.
• Simplify EHS processes to drive practical adoption on the shop floor. 

 

Sustainability & Environmental Stewardship 

 

• Lead environmental improvement initiatives focused on waste reduction, resource efficiency, and carbon footprint reduction.
• Support site sustainability objectives and environmental compliance programs. 

 

Capability Building & Leadership Development 

 

• Develop EHS knowledge and capability across the organisation through coaching, mentoring, and training.
• Empower leaders to take ownership of safety performance and risk management.
• Foster a culture of accountability and continuous learning. 

 

Stakeholder Management 

 

• Act as the primary EHS representative for internal leadership teams, regional EHS networks, customers, auditors, and regulatory authorities. 
  Build strong relationships to ensure alignment, compliance, and sharing of best practices.

Qualifications and skills

 

• Certified Professional Safety Officer (PSO – ระดับวิชาชีพ) in accordance with Thai legal requirements.
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
• Proven EHS experience within manufacturing, food, FMCG, or other highly regulated industries. 

 

Strong knowledge of: 

 

• Thai EHS legislation and regulatory requirements
• ISO 45001 and ISO 14001
• SEDEX / SMETA or equivalent customer audit standards
• Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and drive safety culture transformation. 

 

Preferred skills 

• Experience in a food manufacturing environment.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders across all levels of the organization, including regional and global teams.
• Excellent problem-solving and risk management skills.
• Hands-on leadership style with a visible presence on the shop floor.
• Ability to drive change and deliver sustainable business improvements.
