About the role
This role partners closely with customers to develop and renovate innovative Beverage Application concepts tailored to specific market and customer needs. It leads new product development from concept through trials, scale‑up, and launch, coordinating closely with Kerry manufacturing sites and cross‑functional teams to deliver cost‑competitive, compliant solutions aligned with regional and global requirements (including organic, allergen and GM standards). Acting as the key R&D contact for strategic customers, the role supports customer presentations, oversees lab and pilot trials, applies strong analytical and technical expertise to troubleshoot operational challenges, and stays connected with global analytical teams and scientific advancements. With increasing project complexity, the role requires independent project leadership, strong customer engagement skills, and deep technical expertise in beverage technologies and flavour applications.
Key responsibilities
- Works in partnership with customers to develop innovative new concepts as well as renovating current products that are tailor ed to customer’s specific needs.
- Coordinates launches of new products and runs trials at Kerry manufacturing sites.
- Ensures applications are acceptable in the regional or global markets
- where sales are expected, including any special criteria such as organic, allergen and GM, etc.
- Uses analytical capability and techniques to underpin Research and
- Development projects, and understand key Operations issues, not for QA/QC. Globally aligns with other Analytical teams.
- Increased level of complexity of projects with limited guidance from R&D leads
- Lead R&D contact in key customers building strong relationships with R&D customers providing excellent service in terms of concept development, sample delivery, product presentations and process support.
- Ability to lead and work in a cross functional team for specific customer opportunities
- Customer facing role working with leadership team to develop cost competitive solutions that meet customer & business requirements
- Knowledge of market trends, restrictions and customer requirements & process.
- Keeps up to date on scientific advancements, Maintain records & documentation, Support customer presentation
- NPD to scale up in factory and Operation support
- Conducts lab & pilot plant trials for optimization of current product
Qualifications and skills
- BSc in Food Science or equivalent as minimum; Higher degrees advantageous
- Years of Relevant Experience: 5 Years Experience (minimum of which 2 must be within Food & Beverage industry)
- Expert in the Beverage Technologies and Flavour Application
- Creative and Innovative Thinking, Scientific and Technical Expertise
