About the role
Due to continued growth and increasing customer demand, we have an exciting opportunity to expand our commercial team and recruit a Senior Account Manager – Italy, with a strong focus on the Taste / Savoury portfolio.
This role will play a key part in developing and accelerating growth in the Italian market, strengthening existing customer partnerships while identifying and converting new business opportunities across key food and beverage segments.
The position can be home‑based within Italy, with regular customer engagement across the region.
Key responsibilities
- The Senior Account Manager will be part of the Savoury, PMSSD (prepared meals, sauce, soups and dressings) team, taking care of food companies in Italy.
- Focus on scouting new business opportunities within the Italian savoury industry.
- Deliver & maximise the budgeted profitability of the defined channel
- Accountable for the performance of a customer management team
- Provide expert knowledge of customers to key cross functional stakeholder groups
- In collaboration with the Sales Director, prioritizing, managing and allocating budgets and resources for the defined customers/channel
- Accountable for driving excellence in customer business planning and delivery
- Ensure category & brand strategies/plans are reflected in customer plans.
- Building senior level customer relationships to leverage Kerry’s market performance
- Accountable for the development and direction of customer strategy and activation plans, detailing clear targets per brand/product/account delivered through agreed joint business plans
- Anticipate the customer’s needs to develop innovation projects
- Shape and execute long term growth strategies for your accounts, identifying white space opportunities and positioning Kerry as the partner of choice.
- Drive a robust pipeline of profitable opportunities to deliver sustained, above market growth for Italy.
Qualifications and skills
- 7-10 years of experience in the role of Account Manager, preferably in Flavours Business, Taste & Food ingredients.
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting and contributing to P&L results
- Strong understanding of CRM systems & digital tools (knowledge of Salesforce is a plus)
- Experience in navigating matrix organisations and leading cross-functional initiatives
- Strong commercial acumen, confidence to make commercially sound decisions
- Ability to build, lead, negotiate and conclude commercially sound customer plans.
- Pro-actively identifies and unlocks opportunities
- Numerate with a good understanding of business drivers.
- Proven ability in analyzing and interpreting all available data
- Solid understanding of commercial elements
- Demonstrates good customer awareness
- Excellent relationship building skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Demonstrates a high level of drive
- Languages: Fluent in English and Italian
