Role Description, Skills, Experience and Qualifications required: The successful candidate will drive new business growth, building strong customer relationships, delivering effect presentations and implementing strategic sales plans to achieve growth targets while articulating Kerry’s value proposition to customers for the bioprocessing portfolio. In this role, you'll prospect for new leads, qualify opportunities, and engage with potential clients to understand their needs and demonstrate our value proposition. You'll work closely with account management and other commercial team members to drive growth initiatives, coordinate customer communications, and manage the sales pipeline through our CRM system.
Key responsibilities
- Identify, research, and qualify new business opportunities, target accounts, and prospective clients.
- Conduct outbound prospecting through email, phone, LinkedIn, networking, and other business development channels.
- Engage prospects to understand their needs, challenges, and decision-making processes while clearly communicating the company’s value proposition.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with prospects, clients, partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Partner with Account Management team to support growth initiatives, customer communications, and opportunity development.
- Assist in developing and executing territory sales plans to drive pipeline growth and support revenue targets.
- Prepare presentations, proposals, and supporting materials for prospective clients and business opportunities.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, including prospecting activity, client interactions, opportunity status, and pipeline updates.
- Coordinate customer meetings, deliverables, and inclusion of commercial sales team, as needed.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, marketing, product, and leadership teams to support business development priorities.
- Develop a deep understanding of customers’ objectives, technical processes, and strategic needs to drive value creation.
- Provide technical support to customers, leveraging internal subject matter experts and cross-functional teams on escalations, when needed.
- Ensure updated and accurate sales forecast to ensure on time in full delivery
Qualifications and skills
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Science discipline, or related field, advanced degree preferred
- 5+ years experience in commercial sales, business development or technical sales
- 5+ years of experience in the biopharmaceutical, biotechnology or related field
- Demonstrated ability to analyze market and competitor trends and translate insights into actionable strategies that deliver customer value.
- Highly competitive, self-directed and results-oriented with proven track record of success
- Previous experience in related fields: R&D, process manufacturing, operations, or quality, desirable.
- Technical and commercial acumen related to cell culture and microbial fermentation as well as upstream and downstream bioprocessing workflows
- Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of closing complex agreements.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a matrix organization and influence without direct authority.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% to meet with customers, attend tradeshows or Kerry site visits.
- Geographically located in the Northeast United States (NY, CT, RI, MA, VT, NH, ME), ideally located in Boston or other relevant biotech area with ease of travel to major metropolitan airport.
The pay range for this position is $102,400 - $168,250 in Annual Salary. Kerry typically does not hire an individual at the top or near the top of the range, as we are a pay-for-performance company, and this range is set to continue to reward performance annually while in role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate within the above range may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience, and internal equity. In addition, this position is also eligible to earn a performance-based incentive compensation.
