About the role

RDA Lab Technician plays a key role in assisting Food Technologist into administrative and technical tasks and also any related tasks, where working closely with various stakeholders such as RDA (Research Development and Application) and Quality team is essential.

Work Location: Plentong, Malaysia

Reporting To: Senior Commercialization Specialist

 

Key responsibilities

  • To prepare finished product samples to fulfil customer and development work request.
  • To conduct analytical lab tests and sensory evaluation to ensure the prepared sample comply to product specification.
  • Consistently maintaining a high level of diligence to the recipe and preparation instruction.
  • To capture records of samples movement and communicate efficiently on sample request status to the requestors and update into relevant system.
  • To ensure laboratory equipment is always maintained and calibrated in accordance with the schedule and kept in optimal working order.
  • To upkeep cleanliness and hygiene of the RDA laboratory and pilot plant.
  • Support product shelf-life study activities as requested by RDA Scientists.
  • Support pilot plant operational activities as requested by Commercialization Specialist.
  • To coordinate, prepare and maintain a reasonable supply of raw materials and standard products required for efficient utilization by strictly following GMP procedures with accurate data recording.
  • Conduct systematic disposal of aged and excess samples according to HSE procedure.
  • Other ad hoc tasks as requested by immediate superior based on need of GTIC Support Centre or RDA GTIC team.

Qualifications and skills

  • SPM qualification required; science background is a plus.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team.
  • Good communication and writing skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Able to handle occasional product lifting as part of job duties.
  • Possesses strong interpersonal skills and good organizational abilities.
