Compensation Data

We are seeking a Maintenance Technician Level 1 to help keep our Evansville facility operating safely, reliably, and efficiently. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain production equipment, facility systems, and property. This role is a strong fit for a hands-on maintenance professional who stays focused, responds positively to changing priorities, and enjoys learning and sharing new skills.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, inspections, adjustments, troubleshooting, and repairs on production and facility equipment.
  • Maintain and repair equipment such as mixers, conveyors, compressors, pumps, bearings, sprockets, chains, sensors, and related components.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, welders, drill presses, grinders, cutting equipment, and other metalworking equipment safely.
  • Install new equipment and complete building and grounds maintenance as assigned.
  • Document work performed, labor hours, repairs, and installations in SAP work orders and notifications.
  • Learn production processes and equipment to provide effective support to production team members.
  • Identify abnormal or critical conditions, communicate safety or downtime risks, and seek guidance when an issue is outside your knowledge or authority.
  • Recommend equipment or procedures for preventive maintenance programs and help develop long-term solutions to recurring maintenance issues.
  • Work with contractors, vendors, supervisors, site leaders, and production personnel to support timely, accurate repairs.
  • Participate in predictive maintenance, continuous improvement, and food safety activities.
  • Maintain strong housekeeping and sanitation standards and follow all safety, quality, Good Manufacturing Practices, EPA, Hazmat, and OSHA requirements.
  • Operate forklifts and aerial lifts and provide support in the parts storeroom as needed.
  • Complete special projects and provide break relief to other maintenance employees as assigned.

What You'll Need To Succeed

  • At least 1 year of relevant maintenance experience.
  • A two-year degree in industrial technology or advanced manufacturing is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a food manufacturing facility is preferred.
  • Mechanical repair, general welding, and minor electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to independently complete preventive maintenance and work-order repairs.
  • Ability to replace like-for-like electronic components, including sensors and bin indicators.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate closely with production and maintenance team members to solve complex problems.
  • Ability to prioritize work and ask for guidance when needed.
  • Working knowledge of SAP or the ability to learn a computerized maintenance management system.
  • Reliable attendance and the ability to complete work accurately and on time.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

This position works in an industrial manufacturing environment that may include high noise levels, wet floors, steam equipment, confined spaces, and outdoor temperatures ranging from below 0°F to above 100°F. The role requires frequent climbing, crawling, bending, twisting, and work from ladders or aerial lifts, sometimes more than 20 feet above the floor. Employees must be able to regularly lift 25 pounds and occasionally lift 50 pounds, use force to operate tools and equipment, and meet the vision and hearing requirements needed to safely diagnose equipment issues.
