About the role

The Regulatory Technologist ensures all products and materials comply with ANZ regulations and Kerry’s internal policies. It provides technical regulatory support by creating and maintaining product and customer specifications while collaborating closely with RD&A, QA, and Operations. The position also manages emerging regulatory issues and supports external audits by liaising with suppliers and relevant authorities. A key responsibility is staying updated on ANZ food regulations and sharing best practices and changes across internal regional teams.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure product and material compliance to local ANZ regulations and Kerry policies 
  • Supports internal / external stakeholders across the region by providing standard technical information
  • Create and maintain product specification and customer specifications as well as standard operating procedures. Liaise with RD&A, QA and Operations functional teams for technical information to support customer requirements
  • Manage emerging issues (i.e. be the point of contact to internal stakeholders as required)
  • Provide support when required during external audits (e.g. contact suppliers / liaise with relevant bodies)
  • Develop and maintain a strong knowledge of food regulations across ANZ region
  • Understand & share best practice/ trends and regulatory changes within ANZ with regional regulatory team and internally functional teams (i.e. knowledge management across regions)
  • Support business simplification projects to streamline processes across regions and functions
  • Collaborate and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive continuous excellence initiatives and positive customer outcomes.
  • Remain fully flexible to meet business requirements.

Qualifications and skills

  • Degree in Food Science & Technology or related discipline
  • Experience within the food industry in a Regulatory, QA or RD&A Environment is desirable.
  • Analytical, self-starter, decisive and able to perform under pressure with an open-mind and adaptive approach in a demanding, fast-moving environment.
  • Team player who possesses effective co-operation / communication / presentation / interpersonal and organization skills.
  • Developing Food regulatory & legislative knowledge.
  • Customer Advocacy., Scientific and Technical Expertise.
  • Conduct administrative tasks.
  • Demonstrate high levels of verbal and written communication, negotiation and analytical skills
  • A good knowledge of computer skills
