As the Site Project Engineer you will be required to maintain and optimise existing processes, equipment and machinery to ensure safety, quality and efficiency. The main responsibilities for this position will be:
- Ensuring infrastructure and/or equipment selected is fit for purpose and fulfils all regional, national and local legislative regulatory requirements in its application.
- Lead in troubleshooting and optimizing the production process to eliminate product losses, improve quality, plant capacity, throughput, conversion cost, safety and increase shippable percentage.
- Improve end to end process capability of production lines by applying sound engineering principles to reduce variation, and continuous improvement principles to reduce waste.
- Collect reliable line data, perform analyses, provide recommendations for improvement and implement strategies to drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs.
- Lead the conversion of small-scale processes into commercially viable large-scale operations in conjunction with research & development and plant resources.
- Develop and maintain Process and Product Flow Diagrams, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams, and specifications for the installation of equipment to support the manufacture of new products or to improve existing products and processes.
- Participate in process and equipment risk assessments in order to optimise engineering design.
- Responsible for the management & implementation of capital improvement projects and/or trials to agreed timeframes, budget and scope limits including the management of internal or external resources to complete such projects.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree in Manufacturing, Engineering or relevant Science discipline and 5+ years' experience in a similar role.
- Excellent design & problem solving/root cause analysis skills.
- Ability to interpret CAD drawings for electrical, mechanical and facilities.
- Knowledge in food safety compliance and health, safety and environmental regulations.
- Budget management & costing model experience.
