Location: Murarrie, Brisbane, Australia
The Packaging Technologist plays a key role in supporting the development and delivery of customer-relevant solutions across ANZ. This role works across RD&A, Operations, and Commercial teams to ensure packaging solutions are fit-for-purpose, cost-effective, compliant, and scalable. The role is responsible for leading packaging inputs across product development, optimisation, and customer projects—balancing strong technical outcomes with speed, practicality, and commercial impact.
Key responsibilities
• Lead packaging workstreams across new product development and reformulation projects
• Identify and recommend packaging solutions aligned to product, shelf life, and customer requirements
• Partner with Commercial and Account teams to support customer briefs and presentations
• Translate customer requirements into clear, practical packaging specifications
• Support factory trials, validation, and implementation of packaging solutions
• Ensure packaging designs are suitable for manufacturing, supply chain, and scale-up
• Maintain compliance with regulatory, food safety, and customer-specific requirements
• Develop and maintain accurate packaging specifications and documentation
• Support cost optimisation initiatives through material selection and design improvements
• Contribute to sustainability goals, including reduction of packaging waste and improved recyclability
Qualifications and skills
• Degree or relevant experience in Packaging Technology, Food Science, Engineering, or related field
• Experience in packaging, food manufacturing, or a technical environment
• Exposure to FMCG, ingredients, or foodservice sectors preferred
